About Us

Team Enginuity, the Lenox High School robotics team, has been building strong, innovative leaders in science and technology since 2012. With the help of our dedicated parents, teachers, and mentors, our team has been building robots and demonstrating their work through the FIRST® Tech Challenge competition.

The journey from the first drawing to the completed robot is long and stressful, yet its value and benefits reach so far beyond robotics and competing. Through the program, we gain a priceless opportunity to explore and develop technology related skills and gain exposure to several aspects of technology, including engineering design, computer programming, and even business management.

About FIRST®

Founded by Dean Kamen in 1989, the mission of FIRST® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

FIRST® Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team.

Vision:

To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders. – Dean Kamen, Founder
